Sameul celebrates after scoring the second goal of the match.
Male', MALDIVES - Victory earned three easy points against the minnows Thoddoo Football Club in the first game after the break in Dhiraagu Dhivehi Laegue. Ibrahim Fazeel opened the goal scoring chart in the 3rd minute. Former New Radiant striker Samuel, who got a free transfer to Victory in the mid season transfer period scored Victory’s second goal in the 13th minute. Ismail scored the third goal in the 36th minute and Samuel doubled the score line.

After the match, Victory’s coach Suzain said that he was happy with the three points, but not with the score line.
“I am happy that we got three points from the game. But then, we scored three goals in the first half and could not continue in the same tempo in the second half. Afiu’s injury also played a huge part in the poor performance”

“I believe that Samuel would be immense help for us to solve our goal scoring problems. And it would get better when Jumanu Rai joins us as well”

Meanwhile, Thoddoo assistant coach, Nizam said that he was happy with the performance despite the result.
“I am happy with the performance. I cant be happy with the result as we lost the game”

“I believe the team has got stronger after the mid-season transfer. I hope it would get better in the next few games”
“The main problem we face is the lack of goal scorers. If it’s solved we could get good results”
