New Radiant gets invitation to play in Vietnam

New Radiant team before the AFC clash against Perak this year. they are yet to decide whether they would participate in the International club tournament

Male', MALDIVES - Football Association of Maldives have confirmed that New Radiant has got an invitation to participate in an international club tournament held from 28th November to 7th December in Vietnam's Bin Duong city.

 

The press release from FAM also stated the deadline for New Radiant to confirm their participation is 1400hrs of 26th November 2008.

 

The press release also mentioned that the tournament is played between 8 teams including 4 Vietnam's pro-league teams, Thailand, South Korea and Brazil's clubs. The Vietnam Football Federation would also provide accommodation and 50% expenses for tickets.

 

FAM's general secretary, Shah Ismail, said to maldivesoccer.com that the invitation was decided by Vietnam's football federation and there was no involvement by the Football Association of Maldives in that decision.

 

'This is not a decision made by us. The invitation came directly for New Radiant. We were asked to pass the message to them".

 

The champions of the tournament would receive a cash price of 20,000 dollars including gold medals and runner up team would get a cash price of 10,000 dollars and silver medal. The third team would also get a cash price of 5000 dollars including bronze medal.

 New Radiant has been one of the most successful clubs of Maldives in the regional level. They reached the semi finals of the AFC Cup. However, they were not able to perform well in this season.

does NRSC have a coach now or are they goin with gerd who won a single match in last two AFC cups...anyways best of luck for NRSC

i also agree that NRSC was best team in 2005. but in this year, NRSC did not qualified AFC, & we show very poor performece in local matches too. furthermore they won only one match in AFC (3 POINTS) . their is much better teams than NRSC. pls Don't look at past, u guys always should look forward... Lets Take an example of past: Once up on a time Maradona is a best football player in the world, at the morment he is just nothing. NRSC got this chance because of Azim, he is a charman of FAM & NRSC too. he favor his team that is nature, he he is not straght forward & honest. so should leave FAM job.

im a supporter of victory sports club.....but still this is great oppertunity for newradient. i think newradient shud use this oppertunity and must give a great fight on behalf of maldives...al the best NRSC.

i heard that new radiant got the chance bcox they r the champions of this year's cup winners cup...not that they r the biggest club in maldives..

go newradiant go only great newradiant gave a nice name to Maldives by playing outside maldives. no other maldivian club has got that far. and one more thing. newradiant also went so far in AFC that SAARC country's are proud of. so pls stop talking about newradiant. and think as maldives playing in vietnam..

Lets be realistic. New Radiant is as well known in this region as Home United of Singapore of Perak of Malaysia. I have been all over this region and seen that as a maldives football fan. So its no wonder that as the best Maldives club in the region and also the Biggest Club in Maldives, New Radiant got this chance. Is there a need fr FAM to distibute these chances? I dont think so. Show your colours before you think you deserve something

international football mubaaraatheh bavvan mihaaru bangladesh akah invite eh nukuraane. becoz they won saff championship in 2003. mihaaru invite kuraany MALDIVES or INDIA ah. becoz we are they are the champions and runnerups of last saff championship. ekam Azim FAM aa newradient hingaathy mikan vaany mihen kan engey. good chance for NRSC, i think we should take NRSC to a higher level with these great opportunities, may be Kudatey will not leave NRSC as Victory still not paid for him the amount he desired. Kudatey said he "love NWRSC V.much", but he is leaving only for the sake of money that is v.important to him for the current situation of his personal life.. I think though he move to VSC, he will score own goals while playing against NRSC...:p

haha wat is this, i think vietnam will also need best teams in maldives , NRSC was best in 2005 and 2006, so i request NRSC or Vietnam or FAM to give this chance to either Valencia or VB, i am sure NRSC can do nothing....haha ....Axim and shah u ppl are g8 by running FAM .....best ever FAM and NRSC chairman....Axim u can even run AFC or FIFA.....hope u will elect as FIFA president
